PERKINS, Sarah Catherine "Sally" - 74, Amherst, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2005, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Canso, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Ryan) Flemming. She worked as a MT&T operator. Sally was a member of St. Charles Roman Catholic Church and the C.W.L. She was a telephone pioneer and worked on the executive. Sally is survived by her daughters, Mary Elizabeth Kennedy (Edward), Anne McKillop (Douglas), Joan Estabrooks (Kenneth), Barbara March (Kevin); son, Paul (Tammy); sister, Alice Milner (Wayne); sister-in-law, Patsy Flemming; grandchildren, Joshua Kennedy, Kerianne McKillop (Courtney Brown), Scott McKillop (Terri Milner), Tyler McKillop, Joey Estabrooks (Marie Gilroy), Adam Estabrooks, Anthony, Daniel March, Brittan and Ryan Perkins; special great-grandchildren, Brandon Milner and Sara Catherine Estabrooks. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Perkins; sisters, Mae Flemming, Blanche MacFarlane, Florence Mosher; brothers, Jim and George. Sally's remains are resting in Furlong's Funeral Home in Amherst with visiting hours today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Her funeral mass will be held in St. Charles Roman Catholic Church on Friday, January 21, at 10 a.m. with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Spring burial will take place in St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Palliative Care Unit of Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Victorian Order of Nurses or a charity of choice.
