RECTOR (Little), Annie Romona - 76, East Chezzetcook, formerly of Springhill, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 15, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital, with her seven children by her side. Born January 14, 1929, in Wentworth, she was a daughter of the late James and Ida Little. Annie lived her early years in Tatamagouche. She was raised by her grandparents Will and Cassie Langille. She then moved to Springhill where she worked as a waitress and later a nurses aide. She spent many years working in local hospitals before moving to Halifax where she finished her nursing career as a psychiatric aide at the Abbey J. Lane Hospital. After retirement she moved to the small community of East Chezzetcook on the Eastern Shore. Annie enjoyed life to the fullest. In particular her love of bingo and beaching. She looked forward to her weekly bingo games all year round. She will be missed by her beach bingo buddy, niece Linda Gogan. Annie couldn't wait for May as she prepared to move to her cottage at Cameron Beach. Here she would enjoy the summer surrounded by her family. Annie and her treats at the Sugar Shack will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and grand dogs too. She was an avid lawn dart player and enjoyed the many family potluck suppers especially when her daughter-in-law Joy made Yorkshire Pudding. Crafting was another favorite pastime for Annie. She spent many hours assisting her daughter Margaret with her craft shows (in particular the DHC Show). Annie was predeceased by a twin brother at birth and her husband, Samuel James Rector. She is survived by her faithful companion, Herman Gagnon; sisters, June Wadden, New Glasgow; Phyllis MacLellan, Truro; children, Donnie (Kay) Gould, North Carolina; Dick (MaryLee) Rector, Springhill; Marilyn (Clarence) Boucher, Moncton, N.B.; Margaret (Dan) Gagnon, Dartmouth; Bill (Joy) Rector, Porters Lake; Meredith (George) Skinner, Halifax; Pat (Loraine) Rector, Calgary, Alta.; grandchildren, Richard, Moncton; David, Ottawa, Ont.; Madison, Saint John, N.B.; Michael, Christina, Grace, North Carolina; Carla, Truro; Brandi, Amherst; Nathan, Toronto, Ont.; Mark, Scott, Western Canada; Felicia, Dartmouth; Christopher, Karen, Jamie, Marilyn, Halifax; Kayley, Kate, Calgary; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Ama, Palmer, Ryan, Noah, Mariel, Hannah, Samuel, Austin, Zachary, Emily, Samuel, and Charlie; sister-in-law, Queenie Cole and special cousins, Harold Spence and Wilfred Rector. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen St., Dartmouth. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, in Christ Church, 11 Ochterloney St., Dartmouth. An interment service will follow at 3 p.m. in Hillside Cemetery vault, Monument Hill, Springhill. Family flowers only.
