KENNEDY, Charles F. - 90, Pugwash, passed away peacefully in East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, on January 14, 2005, surrounded by his family. Born in Murray Harbour, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Nelson and Isabelle (Hayden) Kennedy. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Gulf Shore. He worked for many years as Chief Cook, serving in the Army at the POW camp, Debert, on the Prince Nova Ferry, Wood Islands, P.E.I., on the Brent and Sorrel ships, P.E.I., on the Dept. of Transportation tugboat, Pugwash, and for well over 25 years in the Canadian Navy. Charles was a lover of the outdoors and all of its wildlife. He enjoyed long car trips to locations throughout the Maritimes. Surviving are his children, Violet MacDonald, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; John (Darlene), Cambridge, Ont.; Annie (Carl) Johnson, Pugwash; Lorrie (Robert) Browne, Wallace Station; Lewie, Dartmouth; Roger (Ruthanne), Calgary, Alta.; sister, Lilla Buell, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Frances (Auld); brothers, Hector, Nelson, and Willard; sisters, Rhoda, Bertha, Wilhelmina, Louise, and Violet; son-in-law, Kenneth MacDonald; granddaughter, Cheryl MacDonald. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, January 17, both in Mundle's Funeral Home, Pugwash, Mr. Laurie Mosher officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Bay Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, or a charity of choice.
