FAHEY, E. Jean - 80, Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully in the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst on Thursday, January 13, 2005, with her family by her side. Born in Little River, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Alda C. (Baird) Webb. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Little River United Baptist Church and a member of the Beckwith United Baptist Church, and a life member of the Mount Pleasant Women's Group. She was a member of the Colfax Rebekah Lodge No. 7, Oxford. She was a past Noble Grand of the Colfax Rebekah Lodge No. 7, Oxford. She taught school for a number of years in Cumberland County. Having taught in Mount Pleasant, Mansfield, and Little River. Following this she was employed with the Steadman's Store in Oxford. Prior to her retirement she was employed with the Sears Order Office in Oxford for a number of years. She was a lover of old time and bluegrass music, and her home was always open to her many friends who came to play Old Time and Bluegrass music. She and her late husband attended many Old Time fiddle contests. She was a lover of the outdoors and loved gardening and fishing. Surviving are daughters, Alda Carole Weirich (Herman), Riverview, N.B.; Sara Lonna "Sally" Fowler (Steven), Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Wendy Jean Weirich, Riverview, N.B.; Tamara Lee Weirich, Moncton, N.B.; Mark Steven Fowler and Chad Darren Fowler, both of Lower Sackville; great-grandchildren, Brent Edwards, Charles Despres and Rebeca Despres; brothers, Ronald Webb (Dorothy), Little River; Kenneth Webb (Leona), Sussex, N.B. She was predeceased by her husband, H. Alonzo "Lonnie" Fahey in 2004; sister, Marion Webb in childhood. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon and evening with the funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 16, both in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, with Rev. Connie Stewart officiating. Interment will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Parkinson's Society of Canada, Maritime Region, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice. The Colfax Rebekah Lodge No. 7 Oxford will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m.
