Re: Sarah BROWNELL, 1881 Census

Hi Kathryn,

I found two other tidbits that seem to agree with Pam
Angus-Harrison and that this was the same Sarah
Brownell that married Robert Bliss McGlashing. They're
not conclusive, but very convincing.

The first is from Lalia Baird's Journal of births,
marriages and deaths which can be found at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~nscumber/baird/

She has an entry: Mrs. Sadie Brownell McGlashing born
16 Dec 1867 - Note: (R. Bliss)

This birthdate matches the one for the Sarah in the
1881 census and the note most likely was her husband's
name.

The second is from "Protestant Marriages 1893-1920 by
Rev. Joseph Howe Brownell of Shemogue, New Brunswick"
(originally dated Sep 1936) and is available at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~nbwestmo/vital.htm

In it, there's the following marriage:

06 Oct 1897 at H. of B. Port Elgin
Thomas H. Brownell (Northport NS, Farmer, Presby.)
Eva Silliker (Port Elgin NB, Baptist)
Witnesses: R.B. McGlashing, John W. Brownell

This appears to be the marriage record for Sarah's
brother, Thomas Houston Brownell. The witnesses are
another possible clue.

Hope this and the links help.
