OBITUARY

JESS, Florence Marjorie - 78, of Kentville, formerly of Centreville,
Kings County, died Tuesday in Palmeter's Nursing Home, Kentville. Born
in West Halls Harbour, Kings County, she was daughter of the late
Harting and Effie (Steele) Porter. She was a lifelong Annapolis Valley
resident. She attended the Normal College in Truro, and taught school
for many years in Kings County. She was a member of the Good Neighbor's
Club, an adherent of Centreville Baptist Church. Besides her husband,
Howard, she is survived by a son, Neil, Tidehead, N.B.; two daughters,
Lova (Mrs. Percy Russell), Kentville; Zelda (Mrs. Keith Fuller),
Abbotsford, B.C.; a sister, Edith Wilson, Halifax; eight grandchildren;
a great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a son, Lowell; a sister,
Elsie. The body will be in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville,
after 2 p.m. Friday, with visiting 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and where funeral
service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Robert Billings officiating.
Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Kentville. Donations may be made
to the Alzheimer's Society, Canadian Cancer Society, or any charity.
