Re: Obits - Susan and Griffin Ouderkirk

Thanks Carolyn,

I found a copy of Griffin Ouderkirk's obituary from your posting 12370
and another version from Kathryn Jeffers on her posting 13596. If you
can provide a list of the ones that you have for her nieces and
nephews, I (and other listers) would appreciate having these posted.

Griffin was the last surviving member of his immediate family, but I'm
missing some dates of death for his siblings and spouses. Perhaps you
or other listers can fill in some blanks. Here's what I have:

Edward "Ned" Ouderkirk (14 Jul 1842 - 1906) and Sarah Jane Treen (03
Nov 1852 - 22 Jan 1934). They were married on 10 Aug 1870 and had the
following children:

1. Ephriam Ouderkirk (21 Jul 1878 - ??) m. 22 Jun 1904 Margaret
Woodbury (05 Oct 1881 - ??), daughter of William Woodbury and Mary
-Unknown- (She may have been Mary O'Brien).

2. Frederick Laurence Ouderkirk (04 Aug 1880 - 12 Aug 1953) m. 11 Jul
1912 to Lydia "Lily" Rose (02 Feb 1890 - 16 Jul 1969), daughter of
Jacob and Lucy Rose.

3. Susan Ouderkirk (07 Jul 1883 - 27 Dec 1952) m. 03 May 1905 to
Frederick Armour (16 Sep 1883 - ??), son of Clinton Armour and Mary
Jane Mattinson. Susan's middle name may have been Amelia.

4. Matilda Jane Ouderkirk (31 Jul 1885 - ??) m. 01 Jan 1906 to Corey
Elijah Moore (14 Feb 1871 - 06 Feb 1958), son of Samuel W. Moore and
Deborah Jane Rodgers.

5. Ethel Ouderkirk (21 Feb 1888 - ??) m. 02 May 1908 to Arthur Ogden
Moore (05 Nov 1874 - ??), son of Samuel W. Moore and Deborah Jane
Rodgers. Sister Susan's obituary lists her as Mrs. Ethel Brace, so she
appears to have remarried. Does anyone know the name of her second
husband?

6. Griffin Smith Ouderkirk (06 Jun 1890 - 15 Jul 1980). Listed as
Griffin Smith Oderkirk on his attestation papers.

7. Charles Henry Haverstock Ouderkirk (27 Nov 1893 - 21 Apr 1918).
Listed as Henry Haverstock Oderkirk on his attestation papers with a
birthdate of 27 Nov 1893. The 1901 census lists him as Charles
Ouderkirk with a birthdate of 27 Nov 1892. Probably named after his
grandfather, Charles Henry Ouderkirk. Henry is buried in Roclincourt
Military Cemetery, France.
